A couple weeks ago we had a Community Forum on the Affordable Care Act, held at Mayville State University in Mayville. It was a great evening – excellent panelists and audience members! The University was a fantastic venue, providing both atmosphere and an abundance in amenities.
The moderator and panelists provided excellent overviews in each of there areas of expertise and followed up with a round of Q&A at the end of the evening. It was great to hear feedback from audience members before they left. All were very pleased with the opportunity to learn and ask questions. Even those who weren’t necessarily for the new health reform law stated being pleased with the open and apolitical environment.
The amount of information shared was vast. As a means to move the facts and discussion forward – and to give people an opportunity to review – I’ve created a website dedicated to the Forum. As time moves on, I plan to add to it through the News and Resources. The intent is to keep it relevant as the ACA evolves and as we learn more. If you have a minute, take a peak, let me know your thoughts – and if you know of any articles or information to include, please let me know.
In the end – the time and effort was so worth while! Many thanks go to the Health Policy Consortium for sponsoring the event – as well as the Traill County Tribune, the Hillsboro Banner, and the Hatton Free Press for providing very affordable advertising. Many, many thanks to all the panelists and moderator. Their comprehensive understanding of the new law is positively invaluable!
The web address for the Forum website is below… please share it out with folks you think may benefit. We have a long way to go in getting good information out to the public – I’m hoping this tool will help! 🙂
